Job overview

AGH Solutions is a wholly owned subsidiary of Airedale NHS Foundation Trust and provides Estates, Facilities and procurement services for the Trust. We are looking for a Maintenance storekeeper to join our team.

We are looking for a highly motivated and professional individual capable of working well within our current Estates team who can undertake, with a minimum of supervision the management of our engineer stores. This will include ordering stock as well as managing our excel stores spreadsheet, so computer knowledge is essential. In addition, you may be required to assist in routine maintenance with other members of the team.

We are seeking a candidate with the experience and qualifications stated in the essential criteria within the person specification.

Main duties of the job

  • The maintenance of stock levels and records within the Engineers Stores using both written and computer-based methods.
  •  The procurement and ordering of goods and materials from approved sources and suppliers required to maintain stock levels in consumable equipment or spare parts or where otherwise directed by departmental managers to support the department needs.
  •  The maintenance of the equipment calibration calendar and compliance records to ensure that all test and monitoring equipment is accurate and properly calibrated.
  •  Ability to utilise computer technology in support of the stores service and ordering procedures and ensure the current ISO standards for the mobility stock is maintained.
  •  Active involvement in stock taking and all related matters.
  • Advising the Estates Supervisor of any issues likely to adversely affect the stores or its efficient operation.
  •  Ensuring the availability and readiness of all battery powered tools and items of test equipment.
  • Act as authorised signatory for the receipt of all goods and materials.
  • Packaging in a secure manner goods for external service/repair and arrange collection by the appropriate service provider/carrier.
  • Checking goods and materials received for condition and quality and arranging replacements where the condition of the goods and materials is found to be below the required standard

Qualifications

Essential criteria
  • GCSE A-C level or equivalent in Maths English and Craft Studies.
  • Health & Safety Training
  • NVQ 2 qualification or equivalent experience in a building service discipline
Desirable criteria
  • Computer skills training such as European Computer Driving Licence or equivalent
  • Health & Safety IOSH qualification

Skills/Competencies

Essential criteria
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and able to maintain required records for stock distribution and control
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively at all levels within the organisation and with external stakeholders
  • Ability to work as an individual with a minimum of supervision and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work at height using access from ladders/scaffolds etc

Knowledge

Essential criteria
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic stock management systems
  • Able to demonstrate a reasonable knowledge of Health & Safety requirements in the workplace and how these should be applied in relation to tasks and situations
  • Has knowledge regarding the safe use of portable tools and access equipment and modern fixing techniques.
  • Product knowledge relating to engineering components & spares
  • Knowledge of the work requirements and patterns of other trades.

Experience

Essential criteria
  • Experience of working within a stores/distribution environment aimed at ensuring an appropriate level of support to a maintenance function.
  • Knowledge and experience of stores/distribution
  • Experience of working within an Estates maintenance environment carrying out low level maintenance tasks
  • Experience of carrying out admin duties
